The introduction of high-speed printing presses in the 1950s and 1960s allowed for the production of more complex and intricate designs on folding carton boxes. The use of computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) in the 1980s and 1990s further improved the efficiency and accuracy of folding carton box production.

Today, folding carton boxes are used to package a wide variety of products, from food and beverages to cosmetics and household goods. They are widely preferred by manufacturers due to their versatility, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability (many are made from recycled materials).
